Pictograph Canyon

On Highway 35, at mile post 22, on the left just past Spirit Canyon Lodge & Cafe, is a graveled parking area and the trailhead to Pictograph Canyon.  Hike approximately 1/4 mile and there are prehistoric Mimbres pictographs on the rocks of both sides of the canyon.  In one area is another geological treasure, bubbles, frozen for eternity, from a volcanic mud pool.
