I want you to know how inspired I am after the last weekend here.  We went to the museum downtown and “The Salt of the Earth” photo exhibit was up.  It is the story of the Delaware Zinc mine strike.  I was so impressed with the subject and photos that I bought the video.  I’m going to work it into a talk I will be doing on the empowerment of women.  At the Frontera’s co-op exhibit, the people were there with the solar cooking exhibit.  We are going to have them do a solar cooking seminar for us in the near future.  The third inspiration was a young woman about 15 that was making dolls of her own design back in the library at the Lodge.  They were so darn clever!  She was nearly sold out, but I did buy one of her dolls.   Your cabins were the main inspiration!  Again, thanks. We had a very relaxing time.  When we got here, we watched the sun set and then we fell asleep in the chairs.  While we were here last year we saw three cars go by, and this year we saw four!  On Saturday, we went to many of the places on the Magical Mimbres Tour!  We went to the Living Harvest Bakery, Mimbres Hot Springs Arts and Crafts show, Esperanza’s Vineyard, Elk Crossing Café and we even stopped at Bryan’s Pit Barbeque for some take out for supper. They were all very nice people.  We had a great time and we will be here to celebrate our anniversary again!  Benson, AZ

We both think the Georgetown Cabins are truly unique and there is no need to stay anywhere else.  We initially picked them as being close to the cowboy action shoot, now the view is that the shooting event is close to where we will stay in the future. 

The Gila Cliff Dwellings are very good, the Mimbres Valley is nice, and the setting for the cabins is marvelous.   The winery was a fun trip also. A. & C., California

Thank you! Yep!  A great big thanks to Jon and Susie Eickhoff  for sharing their dream with us for a few days.  We had a wonderful time at their Georgetown Cabins where we stayed in the Judge Lucas Cabin.  All the niceties of home, but with a big touch of the outdoors, sweet smelling air, clear nights with a beautiful star filled sky and clear, cool days with just a whisper of a breeze.  This interlude was a welcome and wonderful respite from the hot days we have been having in Mesa, AZ. 

We also enjoyed some local exploring like the old Georgetown Cemetery and the former town site of Georgetown. 

Silver City is also a very interesting place and is home to the Western New Mexico University. We went to the university for a concert with John Davidson.  He put on a great one-man show.

The cabins are lovely and the incorporation of green design is inspiring.  With cell and internet availability, we could be connected when we needed to but as unconnected as we wanted to be.  We also enjoyed the satellite music channels.  We took a 2.5 hour hike here and found many interesting things. It was fun imagining the history of the area and the lives of the former residents, climbing up the tailings for a panoramic view, blooming cholla and nopal, star-gazing and watching satellites, waking to birdsong.
